Not-For-Profit Organizations and Charities
The Community Coalition The Community Coalition's mission is to create a collaborative, streamlined low-overhead model for cooperative fundraising among non-profits so that more of every donated dollar would go directly to the work of greatest priority. It insures that member organizations provide increased affordable and transitional housing, employment assistance to marginalized community members, one-to-one advocacy for people with disabilities, and child care and family support - in innovative ways that respect and enhance the dignity of every individual.
Learning Leaders - Learning Leaders (formerly the New York City School Volunteer Program) was the first program of its kind in the country and has served since 1956 as a model for hundreds of other school volunteer programs nationwide. Our goal is to help New York City public school students gain the educational skills and self-esteem they need to become successful learners and productive community members.
The Lollipop Theater Network - Founded in 2001, Lollipop Theater Network (LTN) is a not-for-profit foundation dedicated to bringing the laughter and magic of movies to the children who need it most. By working in collaboration with movie studios, LTN brings newly released G, PG and PG-13 movies into hospitals for private screenings.
Media For Humanity -
Media For Humanity was created in May 2001 by a team of media professionals interested in using the power of the media to raise the public’s awareness of humanitarian causes, particularly those affecting children's health and education. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the human condition through the power of the media and media professionals. We enable media and other professionals to give back to their communities and the world through service or support of our initiatives.
National Multiple Sclerosis Society - The mission of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society is to end the devastating effects of MS.
The Society and its network of chapters nationwide promote research, educate, advocate on critical issues, and organize a wide range of programs—
including support for the newly diagnosed and those living with MS over time.
New York City Strikes Back - New York City Strikes Back is an IRS 501 (c)(3) organization. It sponsored a bowlathon in December 2001 where it raised over $12,000 for the Robin Hood Relief Fund and the Uniformed Firefighters Association Widows' and Children's Fund.
Robin Hood Foundation - Fighting poverty isn't a singular activity, it demands an integrated and aggressive approach. To improve literacy, you have to improve the schools and teacher training. You also have to ensure that kids are healthy and well-nourished, that their parents have jobs, and that they all have a safe place to live. That's why The Robin Hood Foundation focuses on early childhood, education, youth, and job training programs, as well as basic survival programs in healthcare, hunger, housing, and domestic violence.
Robin Hood Relief Fund - The Robin Hood Relief Fund is doing what Robin Hood has always done - effectively helping people in need. Specifically, it is benefiting families of the missing or injured; the heroic firefighters, police officers, and rescue workers; and others who have been affected by the economic consequences of the attack and its aftermath. In particular, Robin Hood will work to ensure that the needs of lower income victims are met in both the immediate and long term, and that no needy victim falls through the cracks of the relief effort.
Uniformed Firefighters Association Widows' and Children's Fund - The funds are deposited directly into the Widows' and Children's Fund account and distributed directly to the families of our Fallen Firefighters.
